Happy Anniversary! Seven Years of Latinas Uprising
I can’t even believe that Latinas Uprising is turning seven this week! When I hit publish in summer 2014, I had no idea—I could not have imagined—the type of community this would form. All I knew was that I wanted to find other Lawtinas like me and offer whatever support I could. From that grew a community of fierce, engaged, and driven people who work to make this profession better. I’m alway so grateful for everyone who reads this space and for the support and encouragement provided. Seven years went by in a flash! So I wanted to share some of our top posts, those that created dialogue and motivated…

Year 6: Faith, Liberty, and Justice
Today, six years ago, I hit the live button on this blog and haven’t looked back! I cannot put into words how important this community is to me, how motivated and empowered I am by all of you, and how happy you all make me when I see you pushing ahead and working –so damn hard–to reach your goals. And then when you become attorneys?! To see some of you practice now for 5+ years when you were baby sharks when this first started? To see the leaders and experts and baddies you’ve become?! I am just so grateful to be able to have a peek and that I’m able…

SideBar: Four Years In {Anniversary Post}
Four years ago, Latinas Uprising went live! I never, ever dreamed of how this community would unfold and how passionate I would become about diversity in the legal field. This site is a labor of love, and it brings me so much joy to work on it, little by little, everyday. Mil, mil, mil, mil gracias! I want to share four questions I had to think about during these past four years: One. Is there a need? The biggest question I had when I started this was whether or not there was an audience. I knew I had struggled in law school and even when I did my research, I…

Three Years and Three Big Lessons
I can’t believe it’s been three years since I went live with his site! When I first started Latinas Uprising, I had no clue what type of community I would find—I just knew that surely there were others that experienced the legal profession in the same manner as me. In time, I have met so many amazing women. Women who are focused, driven, passionate, and outspoken—I’m always so impressed and motivated by the accomplishments of this community! So, with that in mind, I wanted to share three things I’ve learned in the past three years: One. Latinas are amazing. Is this obvious? Maybe. In general, I know amazing Latinas who…

#Top5: Second Anniversary!!
I cannot believe I have been working at this for 2 years! Insert screaming ghost emoji here. Two years of being inspired and motivated and moved to tears by so many incredible, intelligent, passionate, hard-working, dedicated women. When I first started this blog I didn’t know what would become of it—I had always blogged for fun, but this had/has a purpose; a large mission that many, many times I wasn’t sure if I was capable enough to carry. Because in the end, who am I to provide this advice? But every time (and this is no exaggeration) –every time—I had a doubt, I would get little bits of encouragement from readers. …

Happy One Year!
It’s our one year anniversary!! Yes, Latinas Uprising has been going strong for one year! Since that time, I have come to meet so many ambitious, intelligent, and kind women. Latinas who are focused, driven, and poised to do great things for their communities. It has really been such a motivator for me to do more because I’m finally seeing real women who (1) look like me; (2) from similar backgrounds, and it gives me the push to do more because I see all of you doing more. Not just the attorneys, but college-grads and law students (and full-time workers, and business-women, etc. etc.) who are so goal-oriented and willing to put…
